i don't like this player either, as many of the posters here. one thing, though, needs to be said: it's the only player that actually allows the user to scrub the timeline (backward or foreward) with mostly all major file formats. for people who work in video / graphics field that's a crucial feature. if only pot player or any other good player out there would have the same smoothness when it comes to scrub the time line as qt does, i would not install it anymore.
cleverbrige wouldn't accept my paypal order even though everything was filled out in the order form. they said they didn't have enough information on me. what does that mean? i have to have flash cookies enabled?
how can i rate it when i cannot open the program? it says in fileforum it is for xp/2000. not true. they only made a patch which does not seem to work. it says in website if patch does not work then program is not compatible with your operating system - no sh*t! it will not accept the user user or user password. waste of my time. it is an old program someone is trying to ressurect and make a buck off of. might be ok for 95 and 98 users.
this program is really nice, i just wish that there was a way for you to have the windows narrator read the numbers out loud as you type them in. this would be an excellent feature so that you can type in the ringtones more quickly and accurately.
simple and good.-one window note app.-portable directly from the developer.-nice design.however..its missing an alert function and an option to give each note a different color. its also using 8+ mb while just hiding in the tray, i think it would be a good idea to destroy the gui when hidden which will drop its memory usage to less than 1 mb.
i think norton 360 is very good. i think i prefer nis because n360 cleans your system without letting you turn that part off.how i get around the toolbar. when ie asks me to enable them, i say no to the toolbar and yes to the vulnerability one. so i think that gives me protection without the toolbar.
the "this little tennis game rocks" reviewer below only ever wrote this glowing review. highly suspicious, particularly since the game actually sucks: you can get much better value for your .
5/5 for the program itself but points off for availability. the software author uses a russian one-click download site (like rapidshare but in cyrillic?) to host the installer rather than something standard (and free) like google code or even mediafire. difficult to find the old-school version for xp otherwise (which is a separate program from the newer version 4 for vista+).***request for fileforum to host the xp version on a mirror here!***i love this app, and have dozens of icons that i've collected over the years, everything from osx folders to linux folders to old-school "classic" mac folders from os 9 and below. :) after a reinstall of my xp system i wanted to re-download folderico once more, but have a few qualms about the simplest (and safest) way of acquiring it. (my av program actually deleted the .rar file from the desktop and put it in quarantine. somehow i'm more than a little queasy about downloading anything from a ddl hoster with tons of banner ads and a paypal "donation" request written in cyrillic. call me paranoid but i'm still on guard after the conficker scare about a year ago.)alll of this is no indictment of folderico, though. folderico itself works great, and isn't intrusive at all; it doesn't change anything about your system, like patching .dll files or messing with the registry -- it just puts a little ~1kb .ini file in the root of the customized folder, and uses only a simple interface or an easily accessible shell menu for the icon sets. unfortunately, it's not easy to come by (at least for xp) and the newer version requires jumping through some annoying hoops just to gain access to a download of this fine app.so 3/5 for the scattershot distribution model; maybe google code is blocked in the author's country or something (i think...albania?), and he can't afford a web-host, making folderico one of those easy to find, but hard to get, apps that deserve more attention for how they "just work." style xp and the stardock suites be damned. some benevolent comrade should distribute a little wealth to the software author and help him pay a few rubles for a decent hosting package of his own. :-)edit: i was just now able to locate folderico xp edition on the author's google sites mirror. 4/5 as i think the download link on the homepage should redirect there rather than to the russian ddl hoster. (still 5/5 for folderico itself.) :-d
