thanks for the longly awiated updated of internet exploer. i hope at some point they will release a light verion for windows xp with all the security updates. i also hope they will not take another 10 years to release internet explorer 10.between the artcile shouldn't read as "internet explorer 7 in " before the last para, i hope that shouldbe "windows 7 in"
it works, but i would prefer an offline installer...
it's up to 4.32 now, and much better behaved.i don't use all the windows configurations, don't see any benefit to it. i use the tree on the left and files on the right, just like windows explorer. the win7 explorer is a train wreck. it's buggy and jumpy, and there is no way to change the bright white colors. that's the main reason i use q-dir, changing color to a soothing light blue.i wish the file header size and position could be saved. i can never see the file size without right-clicking and selecting "size all columns to fit". but i think this is inherited from the win explorer. what a mess.the biggest problem just now is the failure to refresh. when you move folders on the left, they do not show until you press f5 (forced refresh). that's pretty aggravating, and makes me want to go back to win explorer or something else. 1 star off for that.
i agree with several of the reviewers below. flac used to be fantastic but wavpack is definitely the best for lossless compression right now. tak is a little too new and i personally won't use it until its playback plugin is backported to foobar 0.8.3 (there are a couple of plugins which never made it forward to the newest foobar versions so i can't/won't upgrade until one or the other happens).
some interface and slow-down issues are showing up in this latest release. dragging and dropping entries onto the app often results in screen corruption, which sometimes can be dealt with by scrolling up and down the file list. also, when i do drag and drop those files over, sometimes the speed at which they are added is noticeably slower than 1.0.14 and 1.0.15.i hope the developer is able to lock down the code on the core features before adding the enhanced tag editing / presentation and other useful concepts. i'm a big supporter of bonk, but this development version does feel a bit more "raw" than i would have expected, and crashes happen frequently enough to be of concern.please keep up the good work, and thanks for keeping it free.
the windows version has way to much advertisement should have known soon as ms got their hands on it it would go down hill
personally, i still care about this project, but i'm not stupid. probably less than a thousand people (worldwide) still have any real use for freedos. a few oems like dell like to sell a few pcs with freedos to people who don't want to pay for a windows license because they secretly intend to load a pirated copy of xp.did you know that there's an open source project named hercules which lets you run os/390 (decendent of mvs which was decendant of mvt, an ibm mainframe os from the 1960's) on a pc? you don't care, right? freedos will be joining hercules in obscurity soon.
this is a pretty bad version of regular dc++you have to click on a folder, wait for a while before it shows contents of the file!i had shared more than 100 gb, one fine day it showwd me 70 gb shared, i thought it might be a minor bug.well next day it was at 0 gb share, means i had to hash all my files again.damn, it takes days to hash 500 gb.damn stupid software, kill it before it grows !
basically, process lasso is a very very light weighted software. i have tried several other similar softwares, but they really cannot achieve what process lasso can achieve. basically, foreground process thread priority boost is unique, and cannot be found in other similar type of softwares. one software called "process priority master" which claims itself to be the best, i have tried it myself but it's nothing but just a bloatware, a real example of bloatware. it takes like 30%+ cpu in the background all the time !!! jeremy never claims his softwares are the best, because jeremy has a good and professional attitude, which we all should learn from him. i can tell, no other similar softwares up to the current date, performs better than process lasso.
