the isp i use to work for used whatsup and it's about the best network monitoring program available. it works by pinging servers. every network admin should grab a copy.

old, outdated, way past its "best before " date.if you really don't care about what your music sounds like (which is the vast majority of users - i get that) then this is for you.if you do care, there's foobar2000, xmplay and aimp - all are well designed and coded, more full-featured regarding audio quality and much lighter.also they don't feature crapware.@music4ever:now i understand your nym, given your setup. on linux give deadbeef a try. i did audacious and it was ok until i tried deadbeef. imnsho, that's foobar on linux.two stars for mediocrity at its finest.

vista 64 sp2 does not install on dell inspirons with vista 64 sp1. dell has no solution, and microsoft claims that this is a dell issue. ca's security suite does not work (it will run - but doesn't supply virus eradication) for vista 64.vista 64 is so screwed up, that even microsoft's most valued partners can't get their software or hardware to work with it. but they won't say this in public, for fear of the "wrath of microsoft"microsoft's answer is to upgrade to windows 7...... which, by the way, has yet to prove suitable for general distribution.

actually, regardless of your setup or how much ram you have, at the very least this will reduce disk usage. i'd rather burn a flash up over time than my mechanical disks. i have read that you can use 2 flash drives together in a type of raid array. i wish i had bought another. obviously, if all your disks are ssd's you would never need this unless you have very little memory.
